Each year the Scholarship committee works with the school's Counselors in publicizing the availability of the scholarships to the school and in particular to the senior class. Seniors applying will submit their applications to the counselor's office and the scholarship recipients will be determined by the Scholarship Committee and the school's Counselors. The scholarship winners will be announced at the appropriate school assembly and awarded by the Scholarship Committee. Students deserve the opportunity to pursue happiness, security and the American Dream. Valley students need to be prepared to compete in a global economy with 21st century skills. Our ultimate goal is for every student to graduate with a credentialed diploma and be college and/or career ready.  (Valley High School Statement: "Continuing a Tradition of Excellence")  The Valley High School Alumni Association supports the school's efforts to graduate seniors ready to meet the challenges of higher education and/or career ready by providing one year scholarships to students who want to further their education but need additional financial support to achieve their goal. It is an unfortunate fact that college / university costs are well beyond the reach of many students today but by joining the association and helping us find ways to raise funds for our fellow Vikings, it is possible we can make a difference in student's lives.
